Danemark classe européenne 3ème 3 et 4

On March 15th, Mrs Madelon's European class (3ème 3 and 4) is off to Denmark to visit the country and to meet their penpals. We will be back on Saturday 20th. Two days after we get back, our prenfriends are coming over to Paris.
Since the beginning of the year, we have prepared this trip in class: we have made oral presentations about Denmark, we have bought moose hats to wear them when we are there. We have also studied Andersen's famous tale, The Little Mermaid. We have started to chat with our penpals on the Internet.
We are looking forward to getting there!
CU soon :-)

After a long and tiring week, we finally woke up late. We spent our last morning with our penpals in the rain. At 3pm, the final goodbyes came with tears (and rain LOL). We succeeded in finding the airport (with the help of locals). We waited about an hour to check in. After surviving to dehydratation because of the security who'd taken our drinks, the duty free area came as a relief. ^_^. We got supplies for the flight back to France and boarded the plane. Then a raging flight implying the crew, the other passengers and us was declared to get the right seats next to our friends. The flight was smooth and no incident occurred. Just like the departure, the arrival was in tears...

Today, we've been to the National Museum of Art. We saw plenty of different paintings...
Some were very precise and others on the contrary, very abstract !
After the visit it was our turn to paint :) And it finished with a paint battle ! Just joking ! LOL !!!!!
Next we had lunch in a little kids' room in the museum.
In the afternoon, we went to Stroget street, the biggest shopping street in Europe ( as they say.. Doubt it ;) ) Girls had a shop fever ! They were very excited but luckily, they didn't spend all their money :D
To finish, we got back to school and we got ready for the last evening with our host family !

We were at school today.
School in Denmark is very different from Fénelon Sainte-Marie :
-There are about 20-25 pupils in each class in Danemark and about 30-35 in France
-There are about 600 pupils in their school for about 1800 in our school
-They start school at 6 years old and we do at 3
-We say3e4 and they say 9a to refer to a class
-They have a milk room is situated near the library and it has been built to stock food
-The club for them is a house near the school where students can play pool, tennis table and other games with their friends
They have a goat and her name is Feta
-In Denmark they have 35 interactive boards which is 34 more than us!
-They have 12 weeks of holidays and we have 16 weeks
-Their school logo is a tree with water and ours is an open book
-They have a mascot which is a lion
-The Danish students call their teachers by their first names but we don´t
-They have approximately 10 minutes of homework every night and we have 1 hour and a half
After school we went home with our penpals to prepare food for the party at school. Next we had dinner in the staff room at school, some played football and others played Singstar.

Today was Wednesday. In the morning, all the class met at our penfriends’ school. We checked if everybody was there and we went to the station. As we planned it, it was 9:30 (maybe a little later… J) when we arrived at the Experimentarium, an interactive museum in Hellerup. Can we really call it a museum? We didn’t really think so, because you don’t see all these old paintings and old sculptures and old… Everything! Actually you are the “art” in this great place. It’s practically like the Cité des Sciences in Paris. We ate our packed lunch there and some of us bought some food at the Experimentarium’s restaurant.

Then, we went to Copenhagen Central Station (and it was pretty hard to find the right train :-P), to meet Brad, our guide who showed us many places where H. C. Andersen lived. Then we had a 45minutes spare time in Stroget, the street we’re going on Friday. We took the train again and we surprisingly arrived at the right time to spend the rest of the afternoon and the evening with our penpals! Vi ses i morgen! (see you tomorrow in Danish :-D)

Today we took the train to go to the meeting point of the bike tour.We saw the most important sights in Copenhagen. We had a little break in front of the Little Mermaid. We bought some hot snacks. Then we got back on our bikes to get to the Royal Family's Palace which is outstanding. After that we carried on our tour and we rode past a frozen lake. We tried to walk on it but some of us had a fall but nobody got hurt. After lots of adventures, we had lunch in the Carlsberg Brewery. With our stomachs full up, we went to visit it. With the tickets we could have two soft drinks. We had to wait a very long time in the cold, but we could warm ourselves up in a little waiting room.Unfortunately we waited for some time before having a hot bath at our comfortable and lovely penfriends'.
We look forward to tomorrow's day. Some got lost on the train on the way back.
Kisses from cold Denmark.

Today we met at Fenelon at 9:20. Mrs Madelon gave us our moose hats. We took the bus and we went to Charles de Gaulle airport. We had lunch there and after waiting half an hour we could board on the plane. We spent two hours in it. We had another lunch and we read magazines. When we arrived to the airport of Copenhagen (Kastrup) we took the train to Nørreport and next the "Suburban train" to Sorgenfri where we found our pen-pals. To finish we went to our pen-pals´ where we had dinner.
We can´t wait for tomorrow !
